CRIME WATCH

Recent Crime Updates:

1. Thank you to residents who acted quickly and communicated to Townsite with information as the culprits responsible for the recent skateboard thefts have been identified and all information has been passed onto Cochrane RCMP.

2. On Wednesday, September 9, at approximately 1500hrs, offenders gained access to the berm and drove an unregistered, uninsured vehicle in a dangerous fashion putting residents at risk.  Bylaw Officer Gallen happened to be patrolling and confronted the vehicle. During this interaction, Lynn was assaulted by the driver before the offenders fled.  RCMP were immediately called and dispatched and offenders were arrested in the skate park after ditching the vehicle.  Thank you to Townsite Operations that assisted in cornering the offenders and blocking in the vehicle. Offenders will be charged criminally by the RCMP and Townsite will be asking for no trespassing orders against all involved.

At approximately 2000hrs, two kids playing in Manyhorses Park had their skateboards stolen.  Witnesses indicated occupants of a newer Silver Toyota Highlander took the skateboards and then drove off (no license plate obtained).  If you have any further information, please contact Townsite at 403-949-3563.  RCMP have already been  notified.

Thanks again to both services in keeping our community safe!

Over the last week, Redwood Meadows has seen a large increase in visitors. Last week we took steps to prevent some from congregating in parts of the Townsite during the evening hours and we have seen much success. Nevertheless, we would like to remind residents to keep your cars and houses locked up and always report suspicious activity.
