Ice Rink Waiver

Ice Rink Participation Waiver

Under current Government of Alberta mandated COVID outdoor recreation restrictions, a maximum of 10 skaters/participants allowed at any given time. Failure to comply could result in a complete closure of the rink. Please be respectful of this in order to not jeopardize it for all to enjoy.”


“All participants must exit ice when instructed to do so by Townsite Staff/approved ice maintenance volunteers for ice maintenance procedures including, but not limited to, ice flooding, scraping, edging, and board, fence, net repairs”.


“Person booking is responsible for all actions of cohort. Please be respectful of your time limit and exit ice promptly to allow next participants entry. Failure to respect rules will result in a complete loss of privilege to use facility.”


 “By confirmation of your booking you and all of your cohort agree to the following:


In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Townsite of Redwood Meadows (hereby referred to as “the Townsite”) athletic/sports program (hereby referred to as “the Program”), related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:


I hereby freely accept all of the risks (known and unknown) however caused associated with participation in the Program, whether the risks result in personal injury, property damage, death or some other harm to me.


I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If however, I observe any unusual or significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately.


As a condition of the Townsite allowing me to participate in the Program, I (for myself and on behalf of my heirs, next of kin, and personal representatives) agree to waive all claims that I have or may have in the future against the Townsite, its officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, and sponsoring agencies/advertisers for any injury, property damage, financial loss, or any other loss that may result directly or indirectly from my participation in the Program, no matter how this loss is caused (including negligence on the part of the Townsite).


The Townsite of Redwood Meadows is following all applicable guidance to reduce the spread of COVID-19, however cannot guarantee that any individual using the Townsite’s facilities or participating in activities organized by the Townsite will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending the Townsite’s Facilities and participating in the activities, could increase the risk of contracting COVID-19.


Assumption of Risk

The Townsite is attempting to limit the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by using reasonable efforts to follow the health and safety guidelines recommended by the provincial and federal health authorities. Nevertheless, I understand that there remains a risk that myself and/or my child could contract COVID-19 by attending Townsite activities. I therefore acknowledge and agree as follows:


  1. I acknowledge that COVID-19 is easily spread by contact with droplets produced by people who have the virus and I voluntarily assume the risk for myself and/or on behalf of my child that they may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while attending their Townsite Activities and that such exposure or infections may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death to me and/or my child and members of my household(s).
  2. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to ensure that I and/or my child learns and follows all health, safety and other rules established by the Townsite. I understand that any behaviour by me and/or on my child's part that places others at risk could result in immediate termination of my and/or my child's right to use the Townsite 's facilities or attend Townsite  Activities.
